Numerous district citizens have once again received the volunteer card for their great commitment to society.

From very different areas.

– “Habe d'Ehre”: This was the motto for the awarding of the volunteer card in the new vocational school in Weilheim.

Around 170 volunteers accepted the invitation to the ceremonial presentation.

And from a wide variety of areas: sports, traditional costume and music clubs were represented, as were mountain rescue services, rescue services, fire departments and, for example, the Peißenberg Mining Museum Friends.

“Many institutions in our society would probably not function properly at all if there were no volunteers.

Some things would not be affordable by this society.

One can only be amazed at the extent to which some citizens are prepared to give so much for others and for the community.

“It doesn’t work without you, you are the glue that holds this society together,” said District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß in her welcome.

Every gold or blue card guarantees benefits, discounts and other advantages at around 6,000 acceptance partners throughout Bavaria.

Sepp Krönauer from the Schönegger Käse Alm and Andre Behre from the new Piorama leisure pool in Penzberg accepted the invitation as representatives.

They took those present on a journey between cheese, adventure trails and sauna and bathing fun and presented their offers for holders of the Bavarian Volunteer Card.

At the end of the award ceremony, organized by Elisabeth Mattes, the district office's volunteer card representative, there was a dinner together: “Volunteering is not work that is not paid.

It is work that is priceless,” the statement said.
