The 2024 budget for Bad Tölz is in place, and the financial planning met with approval from all parliamentary groups.

After 60 minutes of consultation everything was finalized.

The Tölz city councilors are always good for a surprise.

While there are complaints all over the country about rising costs, declining economic strength, too low wages or a blatant lack of housing and some industries fear for their existence, in the district town with almost 20,000 inhabitants everything is apparently palleti.

Bad Tölz - At least that's the impression you got when the 2024 budget for Bad Tölz was discussed at the March city council meeting.

Unanimously, there were no critical comments from the four parliamentary group speakers.

As reported, current topics have been discussed in the past few months, but they do not seem to play a role at the moment: for example, the closure of the Edeka market in the city center, no prospects of a rapid improvement in the condition of the post office, the dilapidated train station, etc the constant legal disputes with JodQuellen AG because of their residential building projects in the bathing area.

Furthermore, threatened asylum accommodation on Isarleitenweg and the lack of an investor for the planned hotels on Bockschützstrasse, the postponement of the indoor swimming pool renovation with sauna, traffic problems due to the numerous construction work by the municipal utilities, urgent improvements to the cycle path network or the expansion of the Blomberg winter toboggan run in the upper part .

Bad Tölz: Kurhaus expansion and the expansion of the Hindenburgstrasse/Wachterstrasse intersection

The budget plan presented by Treasurer Silke Furmanek met with approval from all parliamentary groups.

From the extensive set of figures that had already been discussed in advance by the finance committee, the main highlights were the expansion of the Kurhaus and the expansion of the Hindenburgstrasse/Wachterstrasse intersection, which has been in development for years.

The term Kurhaus expansion hides a construction project worth 21 million as of today. In addition to the historic Gabriel von Seidl building in the spa park of the same name, another event hall with a foyer is to be built on the slope to the right.

This is intended to enrich Tölz's cultural life.

All factions in the Tölzer city council agree to the 2024 budget

In his budget speech, CSU parliamentary group spokesman René Mühlberger even referred to the war in Ukraine, which shows that, especially under the most difficult external circumstances, the “lively cultural business is the support and foundation” for the battered society.

Green Party spokeswoman Johanna Pfund also mentioned the importance of culture for cohesion, but at least pointed out that one must have the courage to stop the construction project (which has not yet been finally decided) if it cannot be financed.

Ulrike Bomhard, as the eldest of the Free Voters faction, spontaneously took on the task of giving the budget speech after both Second Mayor Michael Lindmair and parliamentary group spokesman Peter von der Wippel were not present.

She reported on enthusiastic guests of the Tölzer town who praised the cultural offerings in the historic building.

Willy Streicher, who voted on a budget for the 28th time and could not resist pointing out that he had never been absent from any vote, was able to go a long way for the two-member SPD in the city council.

He also praised the Tölz household, but saw a number of challenges for the next few years and therefore called on everyone to have a “heart for Tölz”.

The budget for the district town of Bad Tölz provides for a total volume of 72 million euros

The figures compiled by the treasurer's office were unanimously approved.

The administrative budget is over 62 million euros and the asset budget is over ten million euros.

Mayor Ingo Mehner (CSU) was pleased that consultation and coordination had been carried out within 60 minutes.

“It took four hours in the district council,” the CSU district councilor told the Rundschauverlag.

However, the district's budget, which includes 18 municipalities and three cities, has a volume of almost 200 million euros.
