The Almenrausch and Edelweiß Riedersheim shooting club mourns the loss of its shooting master Gerhard Lemmermeier, who died at the age of 61 after a long, serious illness.
Not only the shooters, but also many other clubs are losing a very committed and highly valued comrade.
Riedersheim – Gerhard Lemmermeier grew up in Riedersheim with his brother Karl.
After secondary school, he learned the profession of a car mechanic.
His interest in cars accompanied him throughout his life.
This was followed by a four-year course in automotive engineering.
Gerhard Lemmermeier worked at MTU in Munich, the company gedas and as a system administrator at T-Systems.
So he turned his passions, IT and cars, into his career.
In his private life, Gerhard Lemmermeier found great happiness with his wife Elisabeth.
The two knew each other from childhood because they both came from Riedersheim.
The couple got married in a civil ceremony in 1996, followed by a church wedding in 1998.
The two built a house in Bockhorn and thereby fulfilled their wish to stay in their home community.
The couple enjoyed traveling, cycling and mountain hiking.
Gerhard Lemmermeier's casual manner and his appropriate comments with a smile and mischief will be greatly missed.
He was always able to surprise with his extensive knowledge and was jokingly called “our academic”.
He was also involved in many clubs and associations.
Gerhard Lemmermeier liked to call himself a “club owner” with a smile.
A long-time actor was in the plays of the Bockhorn theater group and also supported us with all the work surrounding the performances.
He was often the first among his teammates to know his lines by heart.
Gerhard Lemmermeier has also been an active member of the Bockhorn fire department for over 40 years and was always there to lend a helping hand.
For many years he also worked for the community as an election worker and was also very active in the newly founded Bockhorn neighborhood help group.
Gerhard Lemmermeier was responsible for the cash register at the Marian Men's Congregation for many years.
His IT skills were also in demand for homepages, photo books, flyers, theater tickets and much more, which they were happy to place in his trusted hands.
Gerhard Lemmermeier had been a member of the Almenrausch and Edelweiß Riedersheim shooting clubs since 1983, and in 1990 he became treasurer.
He held this position until 2003, when he took over the position of first rifle master from his brother Karl, which he held until his death.
The highlight of Gerhard Lemmermeier's tenure as shooting champion was the 75th anniversary celebration with flag consecration in 2004. During his tenure, the club also held several section shooting events.
He was also an active shooter in the club's round robin team.

Gerhard Lemmermeier was a very religious person.
Since 2002 he has been active in the parish council and worked as a lector and liturgy leader.
Attending the Sunday service was very important to him.
He wanted to create a church guide for the 300th anniversary of the Bockhorn parish church, but he was no longer able to finish it due to his serious illness.
