Just a few weeks after the launch of iOS 17.4, the iPhone operating system update, Apple is making a new update available.
Not much changes in terms of functionality and applications but, as stated in a release note, user security is improved, also with the correction of some system defects.
In conjunction with iOS, Apple also publishes iPadOs 17.4.1 and, above all, visionOs 1.1.1, a minor update to the Vision Pro headset software. Also in this case, the security of the system is improved.
Last March 5, Apple complied with the requests of the European Union by updating iPhones to iOS 17.4.
In particular, Apple-branded mobile phones in Europe can download applications also supported by digital stores alternative to the company's official one, better known as the App Store.
A change that is a consequence of the Digital Markets Act in force in the EU market.
iPhone owners can also choose alternative web browsers with which to open app links and in documents (previously only Apple Safari was set).
No less important are the innovations related to accessibility, including the automatic transcription of podcasts.
From iOS 17.4 it is in fact possible to obtain a live text of the audio of a podcast, with the opportunity to search for particular phrases to quickly reach the part that interests you most.
