He is standing in the operating room when the tz columnist reaches him, he is sad and thoughtful, but his patients are waiting for him.
On Monday, cosmetic surgeon Professor Dr.
Werner Mang (74) found out about the death of his good friend Fritz Wepper († 82), shortly after the actor fell asleep forever in a hospice in Upper Bavaria.
Munich - “Yes, a great friend of mine unfortunately died too early,” says Mang.
They both had a great time and experienced a lot together.
“We traveled all over the world and had a lot of fun,” says Mang.
Most recently, Mang, Wepper and actor Bernd Herzsprung (82) spent a vacation together in the Caribbean, on the island of Curaçao.
“Four years ago we went deep sea fishing there.”

Mang: Fritz Wepper was full of energy
A hobby that the friends shared in addition to golf for many years.
They were all members of the Royal Fishing Club.
When Mang talks about Wepper, he goes into raptures.
“I have rarely met a person who was so positive, funny, fun-loving and full of energy.
Both privately and as an actor.”
We celebrated lavish parties together
And even though Werner Mang hasn't had any contact with Fritz Wepper recently, he often and fondly remembers their beautiful, 30-year friendship.
“How often did we celebrate lavish parties at Lake Constance, sing and laugh together.
Fritz was always the last to go home and he was the first at breakfast,” says Mang.
He also stood by Fritz Wepper's side as a doctor for many years.

Greetings to the spec
He supported him with his heart disease, which was discovered in 2016, was there when Wepper had to be flown to the hospital in 2017 because of an infection in his hip joint, and encouraged him after serious operations and his cancer.
“This man had incredible energy,” says Mang.
“He fought until the end.” The beauty doctor sends greetings to his specialist.
“Dear Fritz.
I am very sad.
Be well in heaven.”
