The fraudsters on the Internet are becoming more and more bold: a woman over 90 years old from the Weilheim area became the victim of a fake “Rosenheim Cop”.
The “actor” swindles a five-figure sum.

In some cases, the scams are set up over a longer period of time.
Most recently in the Weilheim area: According to the police, a woman in her 90s was the victim of such a crook.
Posing as an actor: The over 90-year-old was the victim of a brazen internet fraudster in the Weilheim area
The Weilheim police station said the senior citizen met a supposed actor from the television series “The Rosenheim Cops” on the Internet.
The “actor” cleverly built a relationship of trust with the lady and revealed his private problems to her after weeks.
In order to do good, the woman transferred several amounts, ultimately a five-figure sum.
Police tips
In connection with the latest fraud case, the Weilheim police again ask:
• Remain suspicious.
• Be careful when it comes to money.
• Discuss this with family or friends beforehand.
If in doubt, contact your local police station.
Only a call from the real actor cleared up the fraud
Fortunately, the woman's two sons had become suspicious and reported the matter to the police.
Even when the “Weilheim cops” visited the elderly woman at home, she didn’t believe the fraud, according to the Weilheim police station.
Only when contact with the “Rosenheim Cops” was made through a son and the real actor called the lady and assured her that he had no personal problems did the senior recognize the scam.
