The stage fleas at the Volksbühne Eichenried already know why they expanded the stage at the Landgasthof Stangl.
In their latest children's theater “When Mr. Lehmann Met the Evil Queen,” almost 30 young actors are on stage at the same time.
Eichenried – From the brave little tailor to the devil to Mrs. Holle, Little Red Riding Hood and Rumpelstiltskin, a wide variety of fairy tale characters are represented in the play by the stage fleas.
When the seven dwarfs start dancing, things can quickly get crowded on stage.
The stage flea tells the story of the old curmudgeon Thomas Lehmann.
He actually just wanted to have a cozy picnic with his wife Ute and his two children Markus and Jessica.
Instead, actor Kilian Herz suddenly finds himself in the fairytale world and calls desperately for his ute along with the little viewers.
There his son (Thomas Ratberger) sits in a cage next to the gingerbread house while his sister (Veronika Lehrhuber) has to preheat the oven.
Out comes the evil witch with poison green hair and a long nose.
Giggling fantastically evil to herself, actress Arabella Fechter explains that she plans to cook and eat Lehmann's son - she just has to look for the right herbs.
The evil queen (Laura Mattern) with her brilliantly diabolical side gives the father one last chance to save his children by stealing all the fairy tale characters' magical items - starting with the devil (Alexander Fechter) with the toupee of golden hair.
He sits in hell with his grandchildren and enjoys the witch's self-made fire water.
The audience had already taken Georg Nagler, who was imitating his grandson, to their hearts from his first sentence.
The more than 200 spectators laughed loudly at one rude Bavarian saying after another.
With the help of the brave little tailor's (Larissa Ostermeier) cunning, Mr. Lehmann finally manages to save his family.
The applause lasted a long time when the game leaders Birgit Lehrhuber and Anita Hilpert named all the hard-working helpers.
And as always: If a child wants to play, they are always welcome.
If necessary, the stage has to be expanded again.
