The beer city of Freising is looking forward to one of its favorite days again: Beer Day is approaching.

And this year, thanks to a special beer in a special year, it might even be a little nicer than usual.

Freising

– The city of Freising, the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan and the Gräfliches Hofbrauhaus Freising are inviting you back to the taps on Marienplatz on Thursday, April 25th: Then the beer day starts.

The day on which we celebrate what people in Freising are rightly so proud of: Freising beer.

And the two large breweries confirmed this to each other on Monday at the annual press conference in the town hall under the direction of the third mayor Birgit Mooser-Niefanger: Arno Jacobi, the technical manager of the Hofbrauhaus, praised the fact that people in Freising are spoiled with great beers – “also from our colleagues from Weihenstephan”.

A compliment that the commercial manager of the Weihenstephan State Brewery, Josef Plank, was happy to return to the Hofbrauhaus.

Weihenstephan will launch on April 25th with the anniversary beer brewed especially for the festival year, and the Hofbrauhaus will serve Moy beer.

Festival speaker Anton Frankl emphasized that the people of Freising were already in a festive mood this year due to the Korbinian Year, “but with Beer Day we are setting a special accent again” – provided the weather is right.

But even if it rains, there is one item on the program this year that will definitely take place.

Anyone thirsty for knowledge can take part in a special tour “On the trail of old Freising breweries” at 3 p.m.

Here you will find everything you need to know about Freising's great tradition as a beer town.

If you want to be there, please register by calling (0 81 61) 5 44 41 11.

But since everyone at the press conference expressed their sincere wish for the best weather, this will certainly be heard and the day of beer can then be rung in after the tour at 3.45 p.m.

Magdalena Treptow from the Office for Public Safety and Order gave a brief outline of the program.

After the herald's entry, who is accompanied on his way from Untere Hauptstrasse to Marienplatz by the Freising student associations and the Freising city band, the purity law is read out before the tapping.

Barrel rolling and beer mug pushing promise fun.

And because there will be a lot to see with so many items on the program, Weihenstephan will accompany the day with a camera and will upload videos from Beer Day to the social media channels, as online marketing manager Anton Hirschfeld said.

The big red 1300 will certainly be the center of attention, as head of the department Rupert Widmann suspected.

Because it is already a huge attraction for young and old every day - whether as a photo opportunity or simply as a place to sit.

And then Birgit Mooser-Niefanger had to bring up a serious topic: With a view to the attack in Moscow and the current reports and assessments from experts, she said: “We have the highest terrorist threat in all of Europe in years.” From the head of the main office, Stefan Klopfer She therefore wanted to know: “How prepared are we?” We are in close contact with the security authorities.

Concrete blocks will be placed at the entrance points to the pedestrian zone.

A security team is also on duty throughout the day.

Klopfer's appeal to guests: Leave large bags and conspicuous items at home.
