Hamas calls for halt to aid drops after death of 18 Palestinians
The Hamas government announced Tuesday the death of 18 people, including 12 drowned at sea, while trying to recover food parachuted into the war-devastated Gaza Strip.
He called for
“immediately ceasing airdrop operations”
and requested the
“rapid”
opening of land access for aid.
In addition to the twelve people drowned on Monday, six people died in stampedes also linked to the arrival of aid by parachute, according to a press release from the press office of the government of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas.
