Fritz Wepper was always appreciated by his TV colleagues - he was also able to count world stars among his circle of friends.
He had a special relationship with Hollywood icon Liza Minnelli since the 1970s.
Munich – On March 25th, acting legend Fritz Wepper died at the age of 82 in an Upper Bavarian hospice.
The TV star became known through series such as “Derrick” and “For Heaven's Sake”.
But the Munich actor also gained international fame and was even allowed to stand in front of the camera alongside world star Liza Minnelli (78).

Even in his final weeks, Fritz Wepper was able to count on his family; his wife Susanne Kellermann (49) and daughter Filippa (12) were always by his side in the hospice.
But the film star had other companions.
Over the course of his life, the film star met many people - some of whom accompanied Fritz Wepper as friends on the rest of his life.
Fritz Wepper maintained a deep friendship with the American actress and singer Liza Minnelli for decades.
In the 70s, the actors appeared together in front of the camera for the film “Cabaret”.

Addressing her husband, she says: “That's when I noticed you for the first time... because Liza Minnelli suddenly said, in the middle of the concert: 'And I'm particularly happy that my dear friend Fritz is here this evening .'
And then you got up and the hall went wild.
And I thought to myself: 'Wow.'" While Susanne Kellermann explains the story, the couple lovingly hold each other's hands.
Fritz Wepper's eyes are glassy as he remembers the beautiful moment.
