The petition, gathering nearly 40,000 signatures, caused a stir in December.
It was Yasin Hansye, the brother of Shaïna, stabbed and burned alive at the age of 15, in October 2019 in Creil (Oise) who was at the origin.
With his family, he demanded from the municipality of Creil “that a commemorative plaque be installed where Shaïna was murdered, and even that a street be named after her.
» Denouncing inaction by the Creilloise town hall, he launched this petition.
This Monday, it was to announce good news that the young man spoke again: work on this garden of remembrance has begun, it should be inaugurated within seven weeks, i.e. in the first half of the month of may.
“Private garden dedicated to the memory of Shaïna”
It is at the very place of the young girl's murder that this place of memory is being erected.
Until then, only an old tree remained, scorched by the fire in the shed in which she lost her life, a few sheets of metal, as well as a wall blackened by the flames.
“This tree was a bit of a symbol for us but it was dying, everything was razed,” explains Yassin.
Instead, a magnolia will be planted, the wall will be redone.
» A stone path will lead to a bench and a small fountain.
At the foot of the magnolia, on a bed of white granules, the letter S in black stone will recall the memory of Shaïna.

After the noise made by the petition, the town hall received the family.
“For us there had been a lot of false promises due to the media coverage of this affair, we still had to go through this petition,” regrets Yasin.
But they recognized their shortcomings and offered us a great project, responding to our requests.
I'm still waiting for all this to be over to turn the page.

In this wooded garden, a stele will contain a message for their daughter and sister.
“Private garden dedicated to the memory of Shaïna, our princess who left us too soon, may she rest in peace.
» A place of contemplation which could prove precious for the Hansye family which has not yet completely finished its grueling legal marathon.
On May 7, at the Senlis court, one of the men already convicted by the Amiens Court of Appeal (Somme), in June 2023, will be tried for having committed sexual violence in August 2017. This time he is accused - with another person - of having committed acts of “aggravated violence”, “theft” and “threat” against Shaïna in May 2019. That day, the young girl woke up in the hospital after having was beaten up on a street corner, possibly for denouncing the gang rape of which she had been a victim two years earlier.
