Mary and Frederik from Denmark are taking another break with their family.
Meanwhile, Margrethe II holds the fort alone over Easter.
Copenhagen – Not even three months have passed since the change of throne in Denmark.
On January 14th, Crown Prince Frederik (55) was proclaimed king on the balcony of Christiansborg Palace.
Queen Margrethe II (83) has actually been in well-deserved retirement since then.
But now she has to step in again for King Frederik and Queen Mary (52) as the Danish royal family left Copenhagen over Easter.

Together with their children Prince Christian (18), Princess Isabella (16), Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine (both 13), King Frederik and Queen Mary went on vacation, the palace's communications department

Nothing is known about the destination, but it is said to be outside Denmark.

Mary, Vincent and Josephine and later Frederik and Isabella spent the pre-Christmas period in Mary's Australian homeland.
And even after the change of throne, the family treated themselves to a week-long skiing holiday in Switzerland in mid-February.
The abdicated Queen Margrethe II had to represent King Frederik X - around five weeks later she is now back in action.
King Frederik announced a new approach in his book “Kongeord”.
Just a few days after the change of throne, King Frederik's new book “Kongeord” (German: The Word of the King) was published in Denmark.
“We will do it differently than my mother, both in terms of the organization and administration of the royal family and the way in which we switch between work and leisure as a family,” says Frederik meaningfully.
“Time off is important because we will probably have more work to do.”
Frederik and Mary withdraw - they want to do things differently than Queen Margrethe
However, Frederik and Mary's vacation also means that it will be a lonely Easter for Queen Margrethe at Marselisborg Castle.
Margrethe normally likes to paint Easter eggs with her grandchildren in advance, but this year she will have to do the decoration herself because her younger son, Prince Joachim (54), is also out of the country; he currently lives with his family in Washington.
According to
Svensk Damtidning
, Margrethe II should at least receive visits from good friends.

The Danish media denounces the fact that King Frederik and Queen Mary - in contrast to Margrethe - like to withdraw from the public eye as often as possible.
“If they are the new style, there is a risk that they will become more invisible over time.
And that's why staying so much in the background is a double-edged sword.
Because it's one thing to stand out from your predecessors.
But you don't necessarily have to do it by being so little visible," says royal expert Lars Hovbakke Sørensen, according to
Se og Hør
.
The workload of the royal couple is always in focus.
Queen Mary of Denmark has been criticized several times for not working enough, but King Frederik doesn't fare much better.
As
Avisen
lists, Frederik has eight official working days in both February and March, while Mary only has two working days per month.
