A man and a woman in their forties were found dead by gunfire on Tuesday at their home in Loire-Authion (Maine-et-Loire), we learned from the Angers prosecutor, who raised the hypothesis of femicide followed by suicide.
The "most plausible"
hypothesis
is that of the murder of the woman by her partner followed by the suicide of the latter
"but we are waiting for the elements of the investigation"
, specified to an AFP correspondent Éric Bouillard, prosecutor of the Republic of Angers.
Absent at the time of the tragedy, the couple's two children, a 19-year-old young man and a 12-year-old girl, were taken into care.
The facts allegedly occurred after their daughter left for school.
According to the Angers prosecutor, the couple was experiencing difficulties, but they had never had any dealings with the law.
No complaints of violence had been filed.
