A body in an advanced state of decomposition was found on Monday floating very close to the Frioul archipelago, off the coast of Marseille,

learned from the marine firefighters, confirming information revealed by BFM Marseille.
The military was notified shortly before 5 p.m. that a body had been seen along one of the islands of this 200-hectare archipelago.
A boat was mobilized by the archipelago barracks to search for the body, found just a few meters from the shore of one of the four Frioul islands.
The body too damaged to be identified
The body, too damaged for its identity to be determined, was recovered by firefighters and handed over to the police to be transported to the Marseille forensic institute for examination.
On February 14, a completely charred body was discovered in the 16th arrondissement of the Marseille city by a walker who was hiking near the quarries located in the northern districts of the city.
An investigation was quickly opened and entrusted to the Bouches-du-Rhône interdepartmental judicial police service (SIPJ) as well as to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS).
