Mother with baby manages to escape from burning apartment
When the volunteer fire department arrived shortly after 3 a.m., the first residents had already fled the nine-story building because of the smoke.
The front door was open, so the emergency services immediately saw that an apartment door on the ground floor was on fire.
It was unclear for a moment whether there was anyone else in the apartment, then a mother came around the corner with a baby in her arms.
She was able to escape from the burning apartment, says Taufkirchen's fire brigade commander Florian Schreyer, who led the operation.
Two seriously injured and seven residents with minor smoke inhalation
The mother may have escaped through the window with her baby.
But both of them had already inhaled a lot of smoke gas.
The rescue service and pediatric emergency doctor took care of the two seriously injured people.
Another seven residents suffered minor smoke inhalation, five of whom were also taken to hospital.
34 firefighters from Taufkirchen and Ottobrunn were deployed
The fire department quickly extinguished the fire.
34 forces from Taufkirchen and Ottobrunn were on duty, reports the fire department operations center.
Fire crews checked all floors and gradually got all the residents out of the house.
The smoke was expelled using a positive pressure ventilation device.

Some of them were accommodated in ambulances, some also sat in their cars, turned on the engine and turned up the heat.
After about an hour, the fire department was able to get people back into their ventilated apartments.
The fire department's operation ended at 5:30 a.m.
According to rescue workers, mother and baby will probably have to stay in the hospital longer.
The police have not yet been able to provide any information about the cause of the fire or damage.
