There is still life in Nigloland.

After closing its doors on November 5 for the final day of Nigloween, the Aube amusement park, which recorded 700,000 admissions in 2023, has worked hard in recent months to offer a 2024 season again. more dense and eventful for its visitors.

It will be officially launched this Saturday March 30.

Le Printemps de Niglo, of which this is the second edition, will last until Sunday May 5, before another break of a few weeks.

“Our desire is for the year to be marked with events,” recalls Rodolphe Gélis, the director of the amusement park.

The first will be

Niglo Spring.

After a successful first edition which allowed us to beat our visitor record for the start of the season (90,000), we decided to invest more to offer even more decorations and activities.

We will also relocate the show.

» Without forgetting the Easter egg hunt, scattered throughout the park.

A few days before the third round of the season, the technical teams are busy giving the park its spring colors, with bells and giant rabbits, but also testing the attractions and training new staff members.

The park's workforce will increase to around 300 people at the height of this Niglo Spring.

Butterflies will replace dragons

The big news for this 2024 season in terms of attractions is “The Flight of the Butterflies” but you will still have to wait a few weeks to enjoy it.

They will replace the dragons which made their last flight over the park at the beginning of November.

This legendary attraction was established in 1996. Part of the structure has been preserved but from now on, families will fly over the park like a butterfly.

This makeover was born from a discussion between Rodolphe Gélis and his uncle Patrice, one of the founders of Nigloland, in 1987, with his brother Philippe.

“He offered to repaint the dragons.

We thought about it and decided to modernize everything.

» The butterfly effect led to a complete overhaul of the attraction within the Niglo Forest.

“We launched in 2018 and created a whole coherent universe with bees, hazelnuts, hedgehogs…”

The highlight of the season, the official commissioning of “L’Envol des fleurs” is hoped for Saturday June 1, the date of the summer opening.

“That would be good because it will also be the park’s birthday!

», recognizes Rodolphe Gélis.

Work is currently in full swing in Niglo Forest.

This attraction will be the first in the park to be equipped with an elevator to allow people with reduced mobility to easily access it.

The queue will also be transformed.

From now on, the wait will be dry.

“Thanks to a greater capacity of the attraction, the waiting time will be halved,” warns Rodolphe Gélis.

The Olympic Flame will pass through there on July 13

Only two French amusement parks will have the honor of being crossed by the Paris 2024 Olympic torch relay: Puy-du-Fou and Nigloland.

On Saturday July 13, the Aube site will be in turmoil.

He had a taste of what awaits him this Friday March 22 since Aube was the test department for the passing of the Olympic flame.

Big difference: there was no audience this weekend.

“We were the first to be surprised when we learned that the flame would pass through the park!

laughs Rodolphe Gélis.

The Departmental Council had submitted our name without telling us.

A nice gift for Nigloland which will multiply the activities on this festive day.

“We will organize the first night of the season including fireworks.

We will also offer an auction of old decorative elements and attractions.

We will donate the entire amount raised but we still have to decide its destination.

» Notice to fans: a dragon can be purchased during this auction.

It always has its little effect in the middle of the living room…

For several years, the park has multiplied initiatives in favor of sustainable development by recovering all of its waste, by investing in washable dishes or even by collecting cigarette butts (240,000 in 2023), so that they be transformed into insulation for buildings or textiles.

The list is not exhaustive.

Soon, solar panels will be installed on the roof of the administrative premises.

In May, the park will know if it has the “Sustainable Entertainment” label.

This multi-level label was set up by Snelac (National Union of Leisure Spaces and Culture) to advance the cause of the environment.

“If we obtain it, we will be the first amusement park in France in this case,” underlines Rodolphe Gélis.

This would be a great reward for all the efforts of our teams over several years.
