Penzberg – The Penzberg district of Steigenberg has been a post-free zone for three years.
That should change: Deutsche Post wants to open a partner branch in the Edeka store there at the end of May.
In the Penzberg district of Steigenberg, there was a Deutsche Post partner branch at the Shell gas station on Seeshaupter Straße until the beginning of March 2021.
Several new locations were then discussed, but nothing came of these.
The latest building committee should discuss the next attempt: a container solution at ESV-Platz on Fischhaberstrasse.

But at short notice, DHL's property searchers withdrew the application.
Reason: The responsible post office is in “very serious discussions” with a shop owner.
The announcement from Mayor Stefan Korpan (CSU) caused eyebrows to furrow.
Because it was “now the fourth property” that had been discussed, grumbled Korpan.
“Now the turnaround is coming again.” Tenor in the group: The post office should fulfill its statutory supply mandate in Steigenberg.

Now there is finally a solution.
“We wanted and had to open a branch here again,” said postal spokesman Dieter Nawrath.
“Fortunately, we succeeded,” said the spokesman when asked – a postal partner branch will be opening in the Edeka market on Schöneberger Straße on May 28th.
Nawrath: “The container solution is therefore obsolete.” It would have only had a daily opening time of two hours anyway.
Edeka and its employees can now offer times from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The post office would then have three branches in Penzberg (previously Rewe on Straße des 28. April 1945 and Edeka on Grube).
