Presented during the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas last January, Rabbit R1 is finally ready to be shipped to the United States.
It is a particular smartphone, with a small screen, square design and which relies on an artificial intelligence management system to obtain information instead of opening the classic apps.
The manufacturer underlined the success in terms of pre-orders, which exceeded 100 thousand.
“We are on track for the first batch to leave the factory by Easter, March 31, as promised,” the company wrote on X.
“We estimate shipping will take just over three weeks as orders will have to go through both international and US customs.”
US customers should get their hands on the device by April 24.
There are no times for shipments to Europe.
Online you can buy the device, for around 200 euros, also from Italy.
Rabbit R1 has a touch screen, a rotatable camera, two microphones and a speaker, 4G connection, the ability to make video calls, a ring to manage notifications and an activation button.
Each request passes through the on-board AI, which is based on a cross between ChatGpt and a proprietary model on the Rabbit Os interface.
There are no applications but everything passes through voice requests.
Its competitor is Ai Pin from the Human company: an even smaller mobile phone, to be clipped to the jacket, without a screen but with a small projector that shows, if necessary, notifications and incoming phone calls.
Also in this case, the work is carried out by a chatbot whose use requires, in addition to the purchase cost of 699 dollars, also a monthly subscription of 24 dollars.
