The attack perpetrated on March 22 at Crocus City Hall, in the suburbs of Moscow, showed it: Central Asia represents a major challenge for Daesh.
The terrorist group claimed responsibility for the massacre which caused the death of at least 137 people in Russia, without giving further details on its perpetrators.
The Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K), the regional branch of the organization, could be responsible for the attack, according to all specialists.
Founded in 2014, first with former Afghan and Pakistani Taliban commanders, the organization takes its name from the medieval name of Afghanistan, which then represented part of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
