At the Grammy Awards ceremony, where she won five awards, or in front of around fifty students from Seine-Saint-Denis, Angélique Kidjo sings with the same force.

Yellow turban on his head, the 63-year-old artist has been performing at the Point Fort in Aubervilliers all this week.

Twice a day, she receives three to four classes of students from the department, ranging from CE2 to sixth grade.

These schoolchildren participate in the Cité des Marmots, an annual project organized by the Cities of World Music association.

“Musicians come to work with the students on Angélique Kidjo’s songs once a week,” explains Camille Martinez, communications manager for the association.

They will then perform on Sunday June 23 with the singer, at the Théâtre du Châtelet, in Paris.

» Nearly 1,000 students will participate in this final performance.
