The municipality of Baierbrunn has unanimously approved its budget for the current year.

The focus is on the sports center and the expansion of the elementary school.

Baierbrunn

– The new treasurer Wolfgang Sacher has set out with a “sharp pencil” what else you can and must afford.

Almost 24 million euros will be generated in the remaining nine months.

The package of figures, said former mayor Christine Kammermeier (SPD) after the presentation, was a “budget for young people”.

The second larger chunk that the community is chewing on is the new changing room on the grounds of the sports and community center, which will be used not only, but primarily by young people.

Kammermeier said: “We can’t think about building housing,” she just wanted to emphasize that again.

22 million euros for the renovation and expansion of the primary school

Meanwhile, town hall boss Patrick Ott (ÜWG) emphasized that Baierbrunn is one of the richer municipalities in Bavaria, which is sometimes overlooked in the super-rich district of Munich, but he also announced that something should be done “to ensure that it stays that way” and the base the trade tax revenue must be broadened.

He will therefore approach the local council in the near future.

Sacher has achieved the feat of streamlining the administrative budget so that 2.3 million can be transferred from the administrative budget to the capital budget this year. He said: “Such a free financial margin is extraordinary.” For the expansion and renovation of the primary school, which is a total of 22 million is estimated, two million have been set aside this year, and two million are also earmarked for the changing room.

Another large item is the community's archive, which is to be transferred to the Hutterer House, the home of the late local councilor Alfred Hutterer, which the community inherited.

The most expensive are personnel costs and district levies

Road renovation measures were budgeted by Sacher at 1.9 million, the roof extension in the building yard will cost 125,000 euros, the PV system on the town hall together with other measures at the town hall is on paper at 150,000 euros.

In order to be able to pay all the bills, the municipality will take four million from its reserves this year; 14 million was in reserve at the beginning of the year.

The major items in the administrative budget are personnel costs and the district levy.

The municipality is passing on 4.2 million euros to the district this year, with salaries totaling 3.2 million.

On the revenue side there are six million euros in trade tax and 3.2 million euros in income tax.

Not everything is cost-effective

One problem is that some positions that are part of the basic provision of citizens do not cover costs.

Dirty water disposal, for example, and rainwater disposal as well.

Only the waste disposal is sustainable, Sacher: “There is something coming up that we have to recalculate.” There is no need to take out a loan this year. Sacher promised: “The community will be a designer in the future, not just an administrator.”
