Maître Étienne Boittin, the lawyer for the Rio family.
At the end of last year, during an update on procedures, he warned his clients that a link had been established between the death of their son in Nantes in March 2021 and the AstraZeneca vaccine against Covid-19 received ten days before.
Saturday, during a commemorative action in tribute to Anthony Rio, his parents, originally from La Turballe (on the Atlantic coast) spoke about him publicly in Nantes.
“At the beginning of January, we were able to consult the file of the procedure carried out by two investigating judges from the Public Health Center in Paris... It is well proven that medically, the AstraZeneca vaccine is the cause of Anthony's death
,” said indicated on the microphone his mother Myriam Rio, according to comments noted by

Anthony Rio, in his sixth year of medicine in Nantes, was 24 years old at the time of his sudden disappearance.
In good health, he died of abdominal venous thrombosis.

In the different cases, these were not the same batches.

Anthony's parents wonder about the batch with which their son was vaccinated: according to their research, the same day, Austria announced that it was withdrawing it after the death of a nurse.
The investigation, which will last a certain number of years and will prove laborious given the elements to be translated, should help to see things more clearly.
The Public Health Center of the Paris prosecutor's office, which collected the files from the provincial authorities, is working on it with judges and professionals.

Immediately after Anthony's death, the family filed a complaint against X, allowing them to obtain an autopsy.
However, it is not certain that criminal liability will be established: this already requires knowing precisely what happened.
Also, it is necessary to distinguish criminal from civil:

“Know the truth”
If the criminal investigation will take time, on the civil side, the Nazairian lawyer has already planned to turn in the coming weeks to the Commission for Conciliation and Compensation for Medical Accidents (CCI) to claim financial reparations.
Once the report has been issued by this body, compensation will come from Oniam (National Office for Compensation for Medical Accidents).
“At the beginning of the year, Mr. Boittin told me that one day or another, we will have to estimate the price of our child's life, because that's what the procedure requires. I told him that it will just be impossible, the life of a child cannot have a price
,” said Myriam Rio on Saturday, in front of our colleagues from the regional press.
When contacted, those close to Anthony did not wish to comment further.
Maître Boittin indicates, however, that

, despite the important work of mourning to be accomplished.
Initially, the family had planned to get vaccinated against Covid and the couple got into the habit of receiving a dose against the flu every year.
