- The district winners of the stock market simulation game have been chosen.
According to a press release, 509 students in 159 teams took part in the competition in the business area of the Kreissparkasse Miesbach-Tegernsee.
Not only the teams with the highest overall portfolio rating were awarded, but also the teams with the most sustainable investments.
Team from Rottach-Egern wins overall depot ranking
In the savings banks' learning project in Germany, the participants deal with the capital markets and current economic events and try to increase the value of a fictitious portfolio.
In the overall depot ranking, the winning team “Trader 80” from the Rottach-Egern elementary and middle school increased their starting capital from 50,000 to 62,425.95 euros, which corresponds to an increase of 24.85 percent.
The gaming group achieved its portfolio growth through investments in the areas of pharmaceuticals, industry, technology, banking and AI computing.
This placed the team in 115th place in Germany and 27th in Bavaria.
Team from Holzkirchen generated over 54,000 euros
In the sustainability assessment, the “Wolfs.of.Wallstreet” team from the Holzkirchen State High School generated the highest income, coming in at 54,504.76 euros.
The team invested, among other things, in environmental companies.
With this strategy, the team ranked 1228th in Bavaria and 4483th nationwide.
This year too, although out of competition, there was an extra rating among the teachers.
The winner among the teachers was able to increase his total portfolio value to 54,157.91 euros.
At the award ceremony, held by organizers Maria Futschek and Sabine Weber, among others, in the Sparkassensaal in Miesbach, the most successful play groups received cash prizes totaling 1,000 euros and a small gift each.
By the way, the winner in Germany this time comes from North Rhine-Westphalia.
The “Running Gag Shareholders” team, supported by Sparkasse Krefeld, had a deposit value of around 69,900 euros at the end of the game.
