Meet the woman known as "Britain's Baba Venga", Mother Shipton, the witch who prophesied at least 3 major historical events and was raised since she was a baby in a creepy cave with her 15-year-old mother.
The fortune teller "Mother Shipton" spent the first years of her life isolated in a dark and dark cave, after her mother wanted to get away from civilization.
Born Ursula Southail in 1488 to her 15-year-old mother Agatha Southail, she grew up in the cold and gloomy environment until a family took pity on her and her teenage mother and decided to help them.
Mum Shipton was two years old when she emerged from the cave in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, which now has spooky items such as teddy bears, old clothes and human hair hanging over the cave entrance.
Legend has it that Mother Shipton was deformed, ugly and screamed a lot as a child without shedding a tear.
It is said that when she grew up she had strange powers and could see the future - with many believing that she was accurate in at least 3 of her prophecies.
Some of her most famous predictions include the Great Fire of London in 1666, the death of King Henry VIII in 1547 and the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1769.
Only one of these historical events occurred before Mama Shipton's death in 1561.
Unfortunately, it has no predictions concerning the coming years, but among its writers there are those who claim that one can find predictions for the Second World War, the invention of cars, trains, submarines and airplanes, the printing revolution, the American Civil War, the emancipation of women, the construction of skyscrapers, a conflict between the United States, to Russia and China at the end of the century, and even the establishment of the State of Israel (to which it is claimed that she referred when she wrote: ""And England shall admit a Jew, Do you think this strange? But it is true! The Jew that once was led in scorn, Shall of a Christian then be born.") She also predicted that the Earth would be destroyed by an asteroid or some celestial object.

Many in the town where she lived feared her and believed her to be a witch, but she also had loyal followers - even today her prophecies are still read and discussed, just like those of the parallel and more famous blind witch, Baba Venga.

According to estimates, the cave where she lived as a baby has been there for 10,000 years and has since become a tourist attraction for those brave enough to visit it.
Many definitely come to the place, but prefer to give up the pleasure of going inside.
The site also has a small museum that tells the story of Mother Shipton.
The fortune teller was buried in Knaresborough and many believe that if you rub your nose on the statue placed next to her grave, she will grant you a wish from beyond the grave.
