The Buenos Aires Government announced that the use of the Paseo del Bajo
for
cars
on
weekends and holidays
was enabled
, with the aim of speeding up circulation on non-working days.
The measure, announced by the head of the City Executive, Jorge Macri, aims "to speed up the mobility of the City during those days", when the number of trucks and buses decreases.
In addition, they indicated, it will allow private vehicles to cross the 7.1 kilometer road corridor in less than 12 minutes.

It is part of the framework of a vision that aims to build a more intelligently connected city," said Macri after a tour of the Paseo with the Minister of Infrastructure, Pablo Bereciartua, and directors of the AUSA company.
The change, the City reported, was resolved after a technical traffic study and will begin to be implemented this Wednesday.

From the survey carried out, it appears that the Paseo del Bajo registers an average circulation of 1,000 trucks per hour from Monday to Friday, while on Sundays it is reduced to 200. For those users who already have TelePASE, the payment will be made automatically.
And those who do not have it must make the payment corresponding to their patent through the AUSA website within 30 days after passing.
The Paseo del Bajo, inaugurated in May 2019, was the first smart highway with barrier-free tolls for heavy transportation.
The corridor connects the 25 de Mayo and Ricardo Balbín highways (Buenos Aires-La Plata) with the Illia highway and facilitates access to the Port of Buenos Aires and the Retiro Bus Terminal.
