An employee dies before the opening of Phantasialand in Brühl.
The man had an accident while doing maintenance work.
The course of the accident is still unclear.
Brühl – Phantasialand in Brühl near Cologne is currently on winter break.
In the meantime, maintenance work is underway before the opening on Maundy Thursday (March 28th).
Now an employee died in an accident on Monday afternoon (March 25th).

A 43-year-old employee of the amusement park is said to have carried out maintenance work on the “Taron” roller coaster around 3 p.m., according to a statement from the Rhein-Erft district police.
The roller coaster is considered the fastest multi-launch coaster in the world.

A “fatal accident” occurred.

According to initial findings, “everything points to an accident,” the
FAZ
quoted the police as saying.
There were no visitors on site at the time of the incident.
Phantasialand near Cologne is one of the largest theme parks in Europe and attracts hundreds of thousands of people every year.
But accidents are inevitable: last year, a 25-meter tower collapsed in Europa-Park in Rust.
