With the establishment of the new 'Sustainability Working Group', the commitment of Unem (Unioneenergie per la Mobility) to "support associated companies in examining and adopting the current and ongoing regulations relating to sustainability, which has become increasingly central in the current phase of transition towards new energies for mobility, also through comparison initiatives with other sectors and with institutions".
Unem explains that "the idea of creating an ad hoc working group, whose members will be indicated by the associated companies as an expression of connection between the different areas that operate in the field of sustainability, by its nature a transversal theme, arises from the need to give a 'home common to the many ongoing activities and thus make action at an association level more effective".
Various, continues Unem in the note, are the activities launched in the last period and, among these, "the launch of the ESG training programme, in collaboration with the Atlante company, to increase awareness and knowledge of the downstream oil supply chain and of new energies for mobility; the study 'Application of different passive sampling systems for the monitoring of interstitial gases in contaminated sites' conducted with Ispra (Institute for environmental protection and research) for the promotion of environmental sustainability and technological innovation in environmental remediation and redevelopment activities; the 'Lubricants and sustainability' report edited by Unem".
