They arrived in front of the room where the academic senate of the University of Bari was gathered, armed with Palestinian flags, a large banner and a megaphone to ask "not to participate in the Maeci 2024 Italy-Israel tender" and to say no "to agreements with Israeli universities complicit in the ongoing genocide in Gaza."
They are the students of the 'Cambiare route' collective of Bari who this morning "brought home the victory", they say, shouting into the megaphone.
That is, the convocation for next April 9th of the academic senate which will meet in an extraordinary session to discuss the Maeci announcement.
"Keep the war out of the university", they chanted before knocking insistently on the door behind which the Senate was meeting.
"We don't want to be complicit in a genocide and we don't want the agreements to be confirmed," added a student in jeans.
Meeting the group of demonstrators was the rector of the University of Bari, Stefano Bronzini, who confirmed the 9 April meeting of the academic senate and who yesterday, as the collective says, announced his resignation from the Med Or committee, Leonardo's foundation Spa.
