Contrary to the first announcements, the French were not able to observe the Northern Lights during the night from Sunday to Monday.
The Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) of
the
US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) had indicated earlier on Sunday that a geomagnetic storm would cross France, due to a
“major solar flare earlier in the weekend”
.
Unfortunately for the curious, the magnetic storm was not powerful enough to observe the Northern Lights on French territory, but this phenomenon will be repeated in the future.
