After a long break you can experience “Dreiviertelblut” again on stage in the Tölzer Kurhaus on April 4th.

The band will present new songs - for the continuation of the multi-part series “Oktoberfest” on ARD.

Bad Tölz – The band around Sebastian Horn and Gerd Baumann not only plays some of their current album “Plié”, but also brand new songs.

Because, as Horn reports in an interview with our newspaper, the band is writing film music again and is continuing its cooperation with the producers of “Oktoberfest 1900” on ARD.

The sequel, which also features Reichersbeur actor Klaus Steinbacher again (we reported), is entitled “Oktoberfest 1905”.

The theme song for the first season, “What’s left,” was quite a hit, says Horn.

“It’s our second most downloaded song on Spotify.

We got a lot of feedback.” He and Baumann are currently working on new songs, several of which actress Brigitte Hobmeier will sing in the film.

Horn: “A world premiere, so to speak.”

Anyone who goes to the Tölzer concert will get a foretaste of it.

“A world premiere, so to speak,” says Horn with a smile.

The songs still have working titles.

In “Grief,” Horn takes up a quote from Shakespeare from Macbeth: “The sorrow that speaks not gnaws at the heart until it breaks,” he quotes.

“When I read it for the first time, it blew me away.” But there are also more positive things, he says with a smile, such as a love song that might be called “Always On.”

“Do you know your way around” is also new.

“We shot a video in the empty Gasteig.

Cool location, with no people at all.”

Advance ticket sales

The concert on Thursday, April 4th, in the Tölzer Kurhaus starts at 8 p.m.

Tickets for 32 euros (plus advance booking fee) are available from the tourist information office, telephone 0 80 41/78 67 15, and at www.bergbeatshop.de from organizer Florian Rein.

The fifth album from “Dreiviertelblut” is already maturing.

“Seven songs are already solid candidates, but we’re still just messing around with eight of them,” says Horn, describing the “creative development process at the kitchen table.”

They also want to test some things live: “How does it feel for us as a band, how does the audience react?

The fans should ultimately decide,” says the 53-year-old.

Numerous other projects

It's not the only project Horn is currently working on.

“Fishbones concerts are currently experiencing a renaissance,” he says, pleased about the boom.

“That's crazy.” Then he makes folk music with Josef Brustmann and Benny Schäfer.

The three make new folk music and, among other things, set their own poems to music.

They are currently working on an album that will be released as a limited, numbered edition work of art.

“Folk music gives me incredible joy,” says Horn.

The fourth project in which you can experience him is “d'BavaResi”, together with Mathias Kellner, among others.

“I call it my anarchy band,” says Horn with a smile.

Logistically, it is not always easy to get all the appointments under one roof.

But: “Because the bands are so different, it’s all very fruitful,” says Horn.

“And I’m old enough to realize that what I do is what I want to do and that no one will talk me into it.”
