Lack of communication, inappropriate decision-making, insidious pressure or even repeated dysfunctions.

The list of grievances against the management team is long.

Faced with a “manhandled” school, teachers at the Pierre-Ronsard college in Paray-Vieille-Poste (Essonne) say they are “depressed”.

Even to the end!

So much so that this Tuesday they decided to bang their fists on the table.

Of the 30 teachers, only four taught their classes.

“They are contract workers, they are too afraid for their future,” analyzes Pascale, a teacher for more than 12 years at this college and member of Snes-FSU.

The strikers denounce “significant slippages” on the part of management, with “repeated lies.

» “During a board meeting, the principal made humiliating and contemptuous remarks towards the elected teachers, in front of two students and parents,” says Pascale.

There were threats to their working conditions.

Following this incident, all the teachers resigned (from the board of directors).

Still according to the teacher, her colleagues feel “professional insecurity”.

“When we filed our strike notice, we all discovered the protocol for requesting transfers in our lockers.

There were about a hundred pages.

In my 25 years of career, I have never seen that.

We all got the message.

Serious tensions

The tensions are not new.

They would have started as soon as the head of the establishment arrived, in September 2022. “She then explained to us that she needed a school year in order to settle in and get her bearings,” recalls Marie-Clara Jean, president of the federation of Parents of Public Education Students (PEEP) within the college, which supports the movement.

Despite some dysfunctions and his lack of communication, we nevertheless continued to exercise our role in the interests of the children.

But nothing has improved.

We are constantly waiting for certain information and must frequently follow up because our emails remain unanswered.

This observation was also reported to us by the parents of the students.

For her, it is this lack of communication and responsiveness which, in part, led to the attack on a 14-year-old teenager by a father within the establishment last September.

“When there are conflicts between students, the instruction has been given to send the young people concerned back to class if there is nothing very serious.

And when this is the case, the families are summoned several days after the events.

It is not normal.

This creates serious tensions, which lead to such acts.

This suffering must stop.

In the end, it is our children who will be impacted.

Contacted, the Versailles rectorate ensures that the situation within the college is “known, monitored and supported” by the Directorate of Departmental Services of National Education of Essonne.

“A working meeting bringing together members of the educational community will soon take place to calm the climate in the establishment.
