The geothermal energy company Eavor and Isar-Loisach-Naturwärme GmbH signed a heat supply contract in the Geretsried town hall.

Geretsried – The heat supply contract between Isar-Loisach-Naturwärme GmbH (ILN), a subsidiary of Stadtwerke Geretsried, and Eavor Erdwärme Geretsried GmbH was recently signed in the town hall.

The city of Geretsried reports this in a press release.

The contract had previously been approved by the administrative board of Stadtwerke Geretsried and the Geretsried City Council.

In the announcement, Mayor Michael Müller (CSU) emphasizes the importance of this contract for the people of Geretsried: “The use of geothermal energy is an essential building block for the success of the energy transition for our region and Bavaria.

Regionally, it can reliably supply us with climate-friendly heat.” However, according to Müller, not every household in Geretsried will initially be able to be connected to the district heating network.

“The backbone is formed by large properties such as schools, companies and large residential areas.”

The ILN district heating network will be built in six expansion stages from 2025 or 2026, depending on drilling progress, and will extend from the industrial area in Gelting to Geretsried-Stein.
