The Civil Guard has located in a town in Navarra a man who disappeared more than 21 years ago from Bilbao and did not care about his wife, children and brothers, who took six years to raise the alarm.
The man now found left without a trace in 2003, but his family did not report the departure until 2009, when the missing man had already rebuilt his life with a family of fairground vendors, with whom he still travels the country from fair to fair since 2007. The Civil Guard has not given any clues about the identity of the man and has only said that he has been found in Caparroso (Navarra, about 3,000 inhabitants).
The Bizkaia guards who have managed to find the whereabouts of this man have issued a note in which they report that the first disappearance report was filed in Barakaldo (Bizkaia) in 2009. He clarified that he currently resides with a family of fairground vendors and that since 2007 he has traveled with them from fair to fair.
After his approval, the Civil Guard notified his sister of his appearance on March 20.
The Civil Guard has explained that, as this is a voluntary disappearance of a person of legal age, the investigations are aimed solely at their location.
It is the decision of the missing person to inform relatives of their whereabouts or of some method of contact.
If not, they would be informed only of the location.
The judicial authorities receive notification of the exact location with the cessation of police location investigations and they end the judicial procedure if there is no criminal offense linked to the fact.
