The next few days could be very uncomfortable in Bavaria. At Easter, summer will probably come to an end - at least briefly.

Munich - Storm, thunderstorms and heavy rain: After a sunny start, the Free State will experience some unpleasant weather on Wednesday, March 27th. As the German Weather Service (DWD) announced, the coming days will also hold rain, clouds and thunderstorms. But there is also good news: Holy Saturday could bring lots of sunshine and temperatures of up to 25 degrees. According to a spokesman for the DWD, it could be the warmest day of the current year in the Free State so far. Easter Sunday will also remain dry and mild.

Weather in Bavaria shortly before Easter: heavy rain, hail and squalls

Strong winds are expected from Wednesday afternoon, reaching speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour on the Alpine peaks, according to the DWD. Isolated thunderstorms could also occur in Upper and Lower Bavaria as well as in Upper Palatinate and Upper Franconia. There is a possibility of heavy rain, hail and squalls in some locations.

Thursday is expected to start out sunny before clouds and rain move in. With the rain, the wind will also become stronger and it could become stormy in places. Isolated thunderstorms could occur again in Lower Bavaria.

According to the weather experts, the weather in Bavaria on Good Friday will be divided into two parts: thick clouds and rain are expected in Franconia, while more sunshine is expected in the south. When the sun is shining, temperatures could reach 17 to 21 degrees, while when it rains it will be comparatively cool at 10 to 13 degrees.

Cooling off on Easter Monday

A spokesman for the DWD predicts a cooling down to 17 to 21 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds for Easter Sunday. It could rain on the Lower Main. Easter Monday is expected to be more changeable with temperatures of 13 to 19 degrees. Rain and isolated thunderstorms are possible again throughout Bavaria.
