This year too, the Knappschaft and traditional costume band invited people to the St. Joseph's celebration in the club's house.

Brother Johann's appearance was initially not at all certain.

Hohenpeißenberg – Once again the speech by Brother Johann alias Hans Seidl was the focus of the Josefi celebration.

His appearance was not certain.

According to information from the band's chairwoman, Elisabeth Unsinn, he recently had to undergo an operation.

Mayor Thomas Dorsch took the opportunity to welcome the still numerous visitors despite a few empty chairs.

He said that “joy and suffering are often very close together.”

It was only on Friday morning that he had a wedding ceremony that was “nice and fun,” and in the afternoon he gave the eulogy for Hans Karl.

It is important to him this year “that we think of our Hans,” said Dorsch.

He had previously portrayed brother Barnabas at the Josephi celebration for many decades.

Brother Johann at the Josefi celebration in Hohenpeißenberg: Sermon to the people “is a duty”

“Technology, technology,” were the first words from his successor, brother Johann, when this didn’t work straight away.

“That’s how it is here in Bavaria, nothing works anymore,” he said.

But then everything was fine again.

Alluding to the aforementioned handicap, he said that it was almost said, “Brother Johann is out this year, he fell and is in the hospital.”

But since a Josefi celebration only takes place once a year, the slogan quickly became clear: “The sermon for the people is a duty, it doesn't matter what you break.

And if one brother falls off the ladder, the next brother continues to preach.” Luckily it didn’t come to that.

He had a quick operation – “and then went straight back!”

First, Brother Johann devoted himself to anecdotes from various community citizens, local clubs and neighboring towns.

Since the Jungplattler people maintain local customs, it is clear that they practice in the playground.

A classmate “accidentally got his ass kicked.”

Brother Johann found the general ban on platters in the schoolyard to be extremely exaggerated.

On the other hand, the people from TSV Peißenberg are on the way to becoming a real super club.

They would offer equestrian sports, long-distance hiking and also dog sports.

But what they also “certainly get from us is our wastewater”.

Whether “clarified or unclear, that has not yet been clarified,” says Brother Johann.

On the other hand, it is clear: “I can do any shit to me in Hohenpeißenberg, it’s all going downhill.”

The preacher also addressed “the bad mood in the country.”

As a frequent driver, he often sees signs: “The traffic lights have to go.”

He drives through places that don't have any.

When it was explained to him that it wasn't about traffic lights, but about government traffic lights, a few things became clear to him: “Red stands for standing still - doing nothing - waiting;

Yellow stands for get ready – get started – get going;

Green stands for full throttle – without brains, marching – and immediately braking again because you were too fast and will be slowed down again at the next red light.”

Renewal of the local thoroughfare: “Nobody wants it, but we have to do it”

Because each office cooks its own soup, the parachutists in Altenstadt cannot practice properly.

They used to jump out of an M-28, where an hour of flight time cost 6,000 euros.

But it can no longer be used because something is missing.

At Airbus the costs were in the six-figure range.

And that's because two authorities don't agree.

With “de Dipferlscheißer” Brother Johann was able to add a humorous touch to the whole thing.

Afterwards, the focus was once again on the community.

It was about the construction of new houses.

With “no one wants it, but we have to do it,” he addressed the “renewal of the through-town route.”

He also criticized the fact that the local councilors always agree.

In Peißenberg, on the other hand, there are “always discussions,” and in Reichling one after the other stops.

“Thomas, there needs to be a bit of atmosphere,” he demanded of the mayor.

At the end, Hans Seidl confirmed that the visitors were a good audience.

They in turn confirmed with much applause that he had given a great speech.
