The Bundeswehr wants to invest around 700 million euros in its infrastructure in Saxony over the next ten years.
Some things are already in the planning or in the implementation phase, said Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius on Wednesday when visiting the planned location for the new logistics battalion in Bernsdorf (Bautzen district).
Bernsdorf - 134 million euros are earmarked for the army non-commissioned officer school in Delitzsch, 71 million euros for the new construction and renovation of the material warehouse in Zeithain and 106 million euros for investments in the army officer school in Dresden.
The new location in Bernsdorf will be designed for 800 posts, including 700 military posts.
