Two minors, suspected of attempted intentional homicide by stabbing on Tuesday in Chartres on a 17-year-old high school student whose vital prognosis is in jeopardy, were arrested and placed in police custody, the prosecution announced on Wednesday.
The two suspects, two minors aged 16, are suspected of having pursued their victim who was leaving Chartres station into a nearby avenue.
One of them allegedly gave him
“three stab wounds which would have reached the lungs”
before going back down the avenue and joining the second individual who was waiting, according to the Chartres public prosecutor Frédéric Chevallier.
“The injured young man was helped by a passer-by who took him to a bar and called for help
,” added the magistrate.
The video surveillance system made it possible to draw up
“a precise description of the two individuals involved”
, underlined the prosecutor.
The two suspects, already known to the courts, were arrested by the police a little later in the evening, during an intervention for two young people who had taken refuge in a building hall in Lucé, near Chartres, pursued by other young people.
“The investigators made the connection with the two suspects who were immediately placed in police custody.
The exact conditions of the blows received and their consequences will be clarified by a medico-legal examination required by the Chartres public prosecutor's office
,” Chevallier said.
