For many Americans, neither Joe Biden nor Donald Trump is a good option in the US election.
A Texan draws conclusions.
Texas – In the 2024 US election, just like in 2020, Americans will have the choice between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
Many are frustrated by the lack of alternatives.
Many identify with neither the Republican nor the Democratic “old white man.”
A 35-year-old veteran from Dallas (Texas) is drawing attention to the deadlocked political situation in the USA with a funny name change.
He changes his name to “Literally Anybody Else”.
The Guardian,
among others, reports on this
.
Dissatisfied in the US election campaign - the former veteran's actual name is Dustin Ebey
According to the report, the man's actual name is Dustin Ebey and he works as a math teacher at a school in the Dallas suburbs since he no longer served in the US military.
He has now changed his name out of dissatisfaction with the two candidates in the US election and wants to use it to run in the election.
“Three hundred million people can do better,” he said, referring to the two leading candidates for the country’s highest office.
He wants an outlet for people like him who are “so tired of the constant power grab between the two parties.”
Neither Republicans nor Democrats would bring any benefit to the average citizen.
Biden and Trump should represent the people in the US election – or they will be replaced
The campaign isn't about him, but about the idea that the US simply needs someone else to be a candidate in this election.
“America shouldn’t have to choose between the king of debt and an 81-year-old,” the veteran said of the two candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
His message to Washington: “You will represent the people or you will be replaced.”
He would need 113,000 votes by May for his name to appear on the ballot.
It's unlikely that he can do that.
Due to the strong media interest in his name change, he has sparked a debate about political structures in the USA even without running for office in the US election.
