Highlights: Deputies of Seine-Saint-Denis criticize the Minister of National Education for postponing a meeting for the second time. The meeting should finally take place on Friday March 29 at the Ministry of National education. This week, mobilization for an emergency plan for education continues in the department. A new call for a “massive strike” has been launched for Friday March29. Educational teams are called to demonstrate at Bercy in Paris on Friday. Several marches are also planned this Saturday, March 30 across the department, notably at the Stade de France.

The Minister of National Education had agreed to meet the 12 deputies of Seine-Saint-Denis on Monday as part of the mobilization

The meeting should finally take place on Friday March 29 at the Ministry of National Education.

Tuesday, the 12 deputies of Seine-Saint-Denis published a press release criticizing the boss of rue de Grenelle, Nicole Belloubet, for having postponed for the second time the meeting she had given them to discuss the plan emergency for education in 93. Since the launch of the mobilization of the inter-union (Snes-FSU, CGT Educ'Action, Sud Éducation and CNT) and parents of students demanding the creation of 5,200 job positions teachers in the department, the parliamentarians had asked the minister to receive them.

The meeting had been set for Monday March 25 at the Rochechouart hotel, but according to elected officials, it was finally postponed at the last minute to Tuesday March 26 by the minister's entourage.

The meeting was then once again postponed until Friday March 29.

“The minister suggested that we meet at the National Assembly on Tuesday,” explains Alexis Corbière, MP (LFI) for the 7th constituency.

We wanted to be received at the ministry, it may seem symbolic, but it is more official.

Finally, when we understood that she would not have time to welcome us there, we accepted the option of the Palais-Bourbon, but it was already no longer available..."

“A form of contempt for the current movement” according to the deputies

“These constant changes in meeting dates demonstrate a form of contempt for the current movement,” write the 12 parliamentarians in their press release.

Why does it take almost three weeks to simply receive all the deputies from a department mobilized for its school?

Why, also, has the inter-union still not been received by the minister herself?

We denounce these methods and attitudes.

“To the extent that these parliamentarians did not wish to meet the minister at the assembly, a date at the ministry was proposed this Friday”, specifies rue de Grenelle, assuring that “the meeting will take place”.

This week, mobilization for an emergency plan continues in Seine-Saint-Denis.

Sunday March 24, a rally brought together more than 1,000 people in front of the prefecture according to the teaching unions.

School nights were organized on Tuesday March 26 in Aubervilliers and Rosny-sous-Bois.

A new call for a “massive strike” has been launched for Friday March 29.

Educational teams are called to demonstrate at Bercy in Paris on Friday.

Several marches are also planned this Saturday, March 30 across the department, notably in front of the Stade de France at 1 p.m.
