This is a further step towards the opening, at the time of the extensions of line 14. This Wednesday afternoon, Jean Castex, CEO of RATP, and Valérie Pécresse, president of IDFM (Île-de- France Mobilités, the authority which organizes transport in the region) visited the brand new maintenance center for the automatic metro, located in Morangis (Essonne), a stone's throw from the Orly planes. “We can see the finish line,” they assure.
Planned as part of the extension of the line to the south, towards Orly airport (Val-de-Marne), and to the north, towards Saint-Denis Pleyel (Seine-Saint-Denis), this site will realize, in a few weeks, the maintenance of 60% of the trains on line 14 and the garage of 19 trains. An essential additional space at the first center of Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis), since the number of trains will increase from 35 today to 72, in mid-2025.
