Hürth – With its fixed primetime slot on Monday evenings, other broadcasters have a hard time getting close to the RTL quiz “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” in the ratings battle.
The popular show with presenter Günther Jauch (67) regularly delivers good ratings for the private broadcaster - but did RTL manage to emerge as the day's winner this time too?

After a break of several years, Sat.1 brought “Big Brother” back to TV on March 4th – but the start of the reality TV format could not convince against Günther Jauch’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”
On Monday (March 18th), the RTL quiz competed against, among other things, a new episode of the ZDF crime drama “Sarah Kohr”.

, 6.25 million viewers watched the ninth episode of the ZDF crime drama among the total audience aged three and over.
The public broadcaster thus gained 23.8 percent of the market share.
Only 3.37 million people tuned in to its competitor RTL, giving it 14.9 percent of the market share.
A clear victory for ZDF and their thriller “Sarah Kohr”.
“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” not only a hit in Germany – TV show with numerous spin-offs
“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” has not only been a real ratings hit in this country for years, the TV show, which originally came from Great Britain (there: “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”), has also developed into a real mass phenomenon internationally.
The quiz show has been licensed in over 100 countries worldwide, including Albania, Austria, Belgium, Turkey, the Netherlands, Italy, Vietnam, Poland, Portugal and Switzerland.
The program sequence, the optics and the music are often almost identical.
“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” is more popular with young audiences
The younger audience, on the other hand, was more interested in Günther Jauch's “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”
In the target group of 14 to 49 year olds, 0.72 million people tuned in to the Cologne station.
This resulted in 15.8 percent market share.
The episode “Cement” by “Sarah Kohr” was watched by 0.33 million viewers.
ZDF received 6.3 percent of the market share in the category.

RTL's “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”, on the other hand, scored highly with the younger target group.

In the current episode of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” showmaster Günther Jauch caused mixed feelings online when solving a question.
