The story of Mauricio Nozica, who left his country in search of new challenges and was surprised. “It was worth it,” the 31-year-old tells Clarín.

With the hope of obtaining a study scholarship in Germany, he did everything possible to learn the language perfectly

.

After much practice, he reached an advanced level of German and

applied to his dream universities

.

Although, there was little chance of being admitted, according to him.

The deadline for admissions responses was looming and

your ideal college wasn't in the message box

.

Despite this, a few days later, Mauricio received the message that

changed his life forever

.

In

2021

, the young Argentine became a student at

the Biberach University of Applied Sciences

.

“In the end,

I did it

.

I was able to get a full scholarship, where they paid me the cost of the ticket, the medical insurance and even

gave me money to cover my expenses

,” says Mauricio Nozica in an interview with

Clarín

.

As a result of this, the

31-year-

old - originally from the

Province of San Juan

-

made the decision to emigrate to Germany in February 2021

.

A dream come true

The protagonist of this story was born in the

Province of San Juan

,

where he made his most precious memories

.

After finishing high school, in

2011

, he began a degree in Food Engineering at the

National University of San Juan

.

The following year, Mauricio discovered that there was the possibility of carrying out a student exchange abroad.

“It was something he wanted to do and

he was willing to try it as many times as necessary.

And so, it was like

on the third attempt, I obtained my first study scholarship at a university in Mexico

,” says the Argentine.

In this way,

he immersed himself in a new adventure thousands of kilometers from his home

, where he enjoyed a 6-month stay in an unknown country.

“At the same time,

I started studying German with the aim of completing a postgraduate degree in Germany

, but I never imagined that in the future I would live there,” says Mauricio.

At the end of his exchange, he returned to

Argentina

with one idea in mind:

obtain a full scholarship to study a master's degree in the German nation

.

In 2020

, he graduated as a food engineer and

got to work to achieve his goal

.

In parallel, he worked as a food engineer in a mine, carrying out food quality control

at more than four thousand meters above sea level

.

It was very hard work

, sometimes

I worked up to 15 hours a day

,” says the graduate.

Mauricio dreamed big

, he wanted to gain new experiences and

continue his professional career abroad

.

For this reason, in

2020

, he sent the necessary documentation to win a DAAD Scholarship that covers all expenses:

tickets, health insurance, studies and, in short, they pay you for studying

.

The surprising thing is that this prestigious merit scholarship

accepted five people out of the thousands who applied, and Mauricio was one of them

.

“To obtain it,

I had to present a research project to later carry out in Germany

.

At the same time, social tasks and the university average were valued,” explains the professional.

Consequently, after many years of effort and dedication,

he was awarded a full scholarship

to study the Master's Degree in Engineering Project Management, with a focus on Civil Engineering, at the

Biberach University of Applied Sciences

In the blink of an eye, he found himself at the Ezeiza International Airport, holding his suitcases tightly, which

held the memories of an entire life

.

And with a mix of emotions,

in February 2021, he left for Germany

, ready to experience a new journey.

His life in Germany

A day later,

he arrived in the picturesque city of Biberach

, where many students reside, according to his words.

They were difficult months

, I did the race virtually due to the covi-19 confinement.

Therefore,

I was not able to meet my master's classmates and form a group of friends

,” says Mauricio.

At the end of his postgraduate studies, he had the possibility of residing in

Germany

permanently, thanks to his Spanish citizenship.

This role

allows you to live, work and study in any country in the European Union

With the aim of continuing his professional career abroad, he looked for work in the country.

After 4 months,

in July 2023, he was hired as a product developer

at a food company.

In that position,

he is paid between 30 and 36 thousand euros per year

, which allows him to cover his expenses,

save money and travel to Argentina

.

I found a job that I really like

.

They gave me three interviews in German, where I had to answer many questions about food production, but

it was worth it

,” the young Argentine happily explains.

Their job is based on

creating and developing products for the consumption of the future

, in particular,

foods that will be sold in

approximately the year 2050.

To do this, he settled in the city of Wiesbaden,

southwestern Germany

“As time went by,

I met a group of incredible people

.

This made my experience abroad more enjoyable, since

I found the support I needed

,” says Mauricio with joy.

In the German nation,

he enjoys long vacations, a good work environment, safety on the streets and paradisiacal landscapes

, according to his words.

However,

he does not forget his roots

: he drinks mate every day and consumes many Argentine products such as quince jelly, chocotorta and dulce de leche.

Currently, he works doing what he loves and knows many countries thanks to his job.

In the future,

she hopes to create her own startup

De Ella.

Emigrating changed my life completely

,” says Mauricio from his new home.
