Two speeders roared through Dürnbach at 150 km/h.

The police assume that the two men were in a car race.

Gmund - The civilian patrol of the motorcycle control group of the Upper Bavaria Police Headquarters couldn't believe their eyes: It was Tuesday, March 26th, 8:10 p.m. when they were overtaken shortly before Dürnbach by a Ford Transit and a BMW 3 Series - at a crazy pace: obviously they were fighting the two drivers race on the B318 towards Tegernsee.

As the Holzkirchen motorway police reported, even at the entrance to Dürnbach the vehicles were still traveling at 140 km/h while they were driving very closely behind one another.

At almost the same speed, they quickly overtook two vehicles at the entrance to the town.

In the Dürnbach intersection they overtook another vehicle, also at around 120 km/h.

Both of their vehicles then accelerated to around 150 km/h and overtook another vehicle.

The video patrol really had to do everything it could to stay close to the vehicles, the police said.

Even the switched on blue lights and siren did not cause the two opponents to slow down.

It was only when traffic was backed up on Gmund Berg that the patrol managed to overtake the two vehicles and stop the speeders.

The driver of the Ford Transit, a 28-year-old Romanian tradesman, smelled strongly of alcohol and the breathalyzer test confirmed that he had been drinking.

The driver of the BMW, a 23-year-old Bulgarian, was suspected of being under the influence of drugs.

After consultation with the public prosecutor's office, a blood sample was ordered from both suspects and their driver's licenses were also confiscated.

The Bulgarian's BMW was also seized.

It is presented to an expert because significant technical defects were found in this vehicle.

There was also an operational front flasher in the vehicle, as is usually installed in civilian police vehicles.

The public prosecutor's office is also likely to be interested in this part.

The previously overtaken vehicles were also stopped and questioned about the incident; everyone was visibly shocked by the reckless driving, according to the police.

The two racers are now facing several criminal charges, including participation in an illegal street race, drunk driving and driving under the influence of drugs.

The two will probably have to give up their driving licenses for a long time.
