More fear than harm.
At Nantes Atlantique airport, a small single-engine plane caused quite a scare to ramp agents and control tower staff on March 6.
Before their astonished eyes, the modest propeller-driven vehicle set off on the tarmac, towards the platform's runways.
Nothing surprising, a priori, for a plane about to depart.
Except for one small detail: at that precise moment, the pilot of the aircraft was not on board.
In the space of a few minutes, the aircraft, a Robin DR400 popular with recreational aviation, was finally able to be stopped, a few dozen meters from the runway, without causing any casualties or causing the slightest Material damage.
The incident was nevertheless the subject of a report by the pilot, who apparently recognized his responsibility.
The Bureau of Investigation and Analysis (BEA) in turn took charge of the episode.
An investigation into a “serious incident” has been opened by the BEA,
the French authority specializing in civil aviation confirms to Le
Figaro .
A passenger on board
As our colleagues from France Bleu report, citing a BEA report, the incident began when the pilot, a member of the Loire-Atlantique flying club, had just left his cabin to manually turn the propellers of the aircraft. 'plane.
A passenger was also present on board the aircraft during the incident.
The final report on this incident is not expected for several months.
