The Moosinning brass band had been rehearsing for the spring concert in the school gymnasium since late autumn.
From January things got “really serious,” music club chairman Peter Huber reflects.
Excitement is inevitable.
Moosinning – The youth brass band, led by Monika Dollak and Lukas Huber, opened the big evening with the young brass march.
In his opening speech, the chairman thanked the audience in the almost sold-out hall for their large attendance.
They are happy that they can ensure the continued existence of the brass band with over 20 young musicians.
In the course of this, the association honored Viola Döllel, Tobias Harms, Thomas Kressierer, Svenerin Schmidbauer and Michael Wittmann with the bronze and Joshua Hanf with the silver musician achievement badge from the Musikbund Oberbayern.
“It’s a lot of stress, but they do it – and that’s the ticket to the big brass band,” says Huber.
Mayor Georg Nagler also thanked the musicians in his greeting: “For me personally, the spring concert is always one of the highlights in the cultural life of the community.” It was a pleasure for him to be able to listen, “because unfortunately I am a complete philistine when it comes to music.” .
The young people were then able to demonstrate their talent with, among other things, “Zwickt's mi” by Wolfgang Ambros and the film music from Star Wars, Jurassic Park and ET, before making way for the 33 musicians of the adult brass band.
They showed their lively and loud side with “Die Regimentskinder” by Julius Fucik and the fast flute and clarinet tones to “Banditstreiche”.
The orchestra under conductor Tibor Handler then let the audience wander over the green meadows of northern England with the “Yorkshire Ballad” and then took their listeners to Greece and Spain.
From well-known classics such as several songs from “The Lion King” to lesser-known melodic numbers, the band presented an entertaining mix of all facets of music, which was rewarded with long-lasting applause from the audience of around 200 people.
