New elections were on the agenda at the general meeting of the Grainau fruit and horticultural association.

For Hans Tietz, who served as the first board member for 28 years, Magdalena Emmerdt now took over the leadership role.

Grainau - Tietz will remain with the club as vice-chairman.

Josef Bader held the position of cashier for 30 years and also handed his position over to younger hands.

Former mayor Peter Schuster, who looked after the cash register for a total of 28 years since the club was founded, was, like Bader, awarded honorary membership.

Both Bader and Tietz also received the silver medal of honor from the community of Grainau.
