After fire on fishing trawler - relative of one killed describes the course of the accident

The current suspicion that the trawler was accidentally hit by Russian rocket fire was raised by the Dozhd television station.

According to the broadcaster, a relative of a crew member is said to have confirmed this.

Dozhd is a Russian television channel that is internationally called TV Rain and is now headquartered in Amsterdam.

In the wake of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, Dozhd initially stopped broadcasting and then left Russia entirely.

The relative of the first person killed is said to have explained that a missile accidentally hit the trawler as the crew was about to go to sleep.

A fire then broke out and the fishing trawler later sank.

In addition, three crew members are said to have died, the four others were injured, one crew member seriously.

According to the relative, as a result of the accident, the survivors were taken to a hospital in the city of Pionersk.

There, officials from the Russian secret service FSB persuaded the injured not to talk about the incident.

After a supposed Russian miss in the Baltic Sea, the ship can still be located

There is currently no official confirmation of the incident in the Baltic Sea.

In the fighting between Russia and Ukraine, which has now lasted more than two years, there have been a few cases in which Russia accidentally attacked its own territory.

In Belgorod, Russia, not far from the border with Ukraine, a Russian fighter jet accidentally fired a missile at the city in April last year (April 24, 2023).

The Defense Ministry in Moscow later announced that a Russian fighter jet had “unplanned firing of ammunition.”

And also in February of this year (February 1, 2024), the Russian news channel Astra reported on Telegram about two incidents in which FAB-250 aerial bombs were accidentally dropped on villages in the Belgorod region.

One of the bombs is said to have hit a farm in the village of Postnikov, while the other hit an urban road in another village called Strelestkoye.

It was reported that up to 150 civilians had to be evacuated.

There are said to have been five such incidents within a year, with the first said to have occurred on April 20, 2023.
