It is clear that the Carolina Panthers will play in the Allianz Arena in the fall.
It is unclear who the opponent will be.
There are a few options.
Munich - The next season in the NFL is taking shape.
Free agency is underway, the draft is just around the corner.
And the pairing is also emerging for the Munich Game.
All that is known so far is that the Carolina Panthers play in Munich.
Since it is already known who the Charlotte franchise will have to compete against throughout the season, conclusions can already be drawn about a possible opponent for the game in Munich.
NFL in Munich: Carolina Panthers will play a home game in the Allianz Arena in the fall
It is clear that the Panthers will play a season home game in the Allianz Arena because the franchise has marketing rights for the German market alongside the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Falcons.
The Panthers will play home games next season against the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Arizona Cardinals and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Carolina Panthers at the NFL game in Munich: Other teams receive marketing rights for Germany
It can be assumed that the NFL is unlikely to send teams to Germany that have already played in Frankfurt or Munich, i.e. probably not the Chiefs and the Buccaneers.
And the Falcons could also be omitted as Munich opponents, as they could probably play their home game in Frankfurt next year.
That leaves the Saints, the Cowboys, the Giants, the Chargers, the Cardinals and the Bengals. The Bengals in particular would have charm, as Cincinnati is known to be Munich's sister city.
It was only on Tuesday (March 26th) that the NFL announced that the Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks would also have marketing rights in Germany in the future.
