We are still far from the arena which will be installed in front of 8,000 spectators on the Esplanade des Invalides, but gradually, the archers of the French team are getting into “Paris 2024 condition”.
This Wednesday, March 27, in the heart of the Sébastien Flute Archery Center of Insep, Lisa Barbelin, Thomas Chirault and other Jean-Charles Valladont had the opportunity to test themselves in a setting very close to what They could find themselves again this summer, once they have passed the qualification stage.
To set up: a platform equivalent to the one on which they will perform.
To signify their entry into competition: the voice of Marc Chavet, the announcer for their discipline at the Olympic Games.
To greet them: around a hundred people present in stands set up for the occasion, whistles in their mouths and “clap-clap” in their hands.
70 meters from them, the Olympic distance: the targets to shoot at.
And on the program: a series of direct confrontation matches, from mixed doubles to the team event, ending with singles matches.
