Philippe Croizon obtains his accreditation for the Games.
And not just for the Paralympics.
The 56-year-old athlete-adventurer and media man, who had both arms and shins amputated after an electrocution in 1994, was recruited by RTL.
He will join the radio on Friday July 26 with a role that delights him: “I will be a free electron.
I will have a column in the morning show, then I will also be on the air every evening, from the set which will be installed at the France club
(in the Grande Halle de la Villette, Paris 19th century)
,” declares the man who directed the feat of swimming across the Channel with the help of carbon and titanium fins, in 2010.
His role ?
A “carte blanche”, like the one that the American media giant NBC will grant to rapper Snoop Dogg.
“Except that I’m not allowed to smoke firecrackers,” he jokes, adding that the station promised him to say “whatever he wanted.”
“I want to bring this event to life from the inside with total freedom of speech.
Saying what is going well in the organization, what is a disaster, and, of course, what makes my heart sing in terms of sporting achievements,” adds this great fan of athletics, swimming and rugby.
